Learn to Ride Clinics | Ages 5-12
Balanced Kids Atlanta's Learn to Ride Clinics have helped hundreds of kids gain confidence and learn the life-long skill of riding a bike.
Our Learn to Ride Clinic is a two-hour group class for ages 5-12, designed to introduce bike riding skills, build confidence, and help young riders pedal independently in a fun environment.
For many kids, one session is all it takes, but we welcome students to return as often as they like!

PRIVATE LESSONS | AGES 4-14
We almost always recommend group classes before private lessons — the positive peer influence is helpful when learning, and the classes are fun! However, if your child does better in a 1:1 environment, private lessons are available.
If you’d like to include a sibling or friend, you can add another rider to a private lesson for the same rate. It’s a great option for kids who learn best together while still getting individualized attention.

SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS
Our Learn to Ride programs bring fun, confidence, and valuable life skills directly to your school. Through hands-on lessons, students learn the fundamentals of bike riding — from balance and control to starting, stopping, and turning safely.
In addition to learning to ride, our classes focus on bike safety, spatial awareness, and personal responsibility, helping students build coordination, focus, and confidence that extends beyond the bike.

Many kids learn how to pedal within 1 clinic. For some, achieving the skill may take more practice at home, another group clinic, or a private lesson. There are factors that determine how many lessons it will take:
1. Risk Tolerance: How risky or cautious is your child? The more cautious or nervous, the longer it may take.
2. Motivation: How motivated are they to learn? The more motivated, the quicker they learn.
3. Balance: Have they had any practice with balancing on a bike? Past experience on a balance bike is very helpful when learning to ride.
4. Coordination: How coordinated are they? Some kiddos, especially in the preschool-age class, may not be ready to coordinate putting feet on their pedals.
We emphasis that each child learns the skill at their own pace. We don't push them to reach the milestone if they are not ready. We look for progress and celebrate each individual's success!
-
We almost always recommend registering for a group clinic first. We have an array of kids ranging ages 5-12 (so, no, your child will not feel out of place based on age!) and ability levels in the class.
We provide a strictly non-competitive environment so kids can feel comfortable learning at their own pace. The positive peer influence encourages kids to learn to ride and group classes are FUN!
You know your child best and if you feel they need 1:1 lessons, we can do that! Not sure? Contact us and we will help guide you based on your child's needs.

1. Bring their bike if they have one. The goal is to have them ride the bike they will ride at home. If they don't have one or you are not sure if your child's bike is the right fit, check that you need to borrow one during the registration process.
2. Properly fitted helmet.
3. Small snack and water bottle. We will take a break halfway through class to refuel!
